Gulf Swords

Been thinking about running out to the spur to give the gulf swords a try. We have never fished for swords, as few people do up here in the panhandle.

A question for all the south florida sword gurus, would the winter be a good time to hit the gulf for swords? I know nothing of their migration patterns and just don't want to waste our time. What would be the best time of year to target swords in the gulf?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Orange Beach runs a tourny in July and they seem to do well. As far as winter goes, the fish would still be there but there would be fewer boats making the run for them. Down here, we are only running 10-15 miles off to the grounds whereas ya'lls run is considerably farther.
