Default Liquid Gold Miami Swordfishing Report 2/21, Daytime fish!

Yesterday myself and Capt. Jason Neadel had the Ben greene charter out from Northstar Seafood and got an early start by setting a line on the bottom to target swords at around 5PM. It didn't take long and at 5:10 we were hooked up on a nice fish in 1350' of water. These fish take some major effort to bring them up the last 100-200', just didn't want to budge. Finally we had color and I dropped the harpoon on him and we had a 60" sword next to the boat in broad daylight! We were already getting bombarded by boats running to the grounds so we made a move a little further south and set up for night time fishing. We got our other bite at 8:30 on the 250' rod but pulled the hook about 25' under the boat. Ben was satisfied pulling on two fish and we headed home early!

Are day time fish really that rare? Or is it that not many people target them during the day......
