Uh oh... now your boss is going to be upset at your constant exhaustion, your wife will wonder where her husband is every calm night, your bank account will empty, and you'll go months without fishing during the day...and when you do fish during the day, it'll feel weird.

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

I totally agree i am beat my back is sore, my eyes are barley open, and my wife is crankey. But all this means nothing in comparison to getting that bad boy into my boat.

Now you know the power of the darkside.

I was looking at some recent pics of myself and could not figure out why I looked so pale. Then I realized the last time I fished in the day was last June in the islands I work inside and only come out to fish at night.

Default Here she is

We had a blast. Here is teh report I did on another website..

I got a call from my buddy Brian (Knot Proper) with Sundance Marine yesterday around 3:30pm asking if I wanted to go swording. I had just finished my last appointment of a pretty long day in Miami and was already racing home to Ft. Lauderdale to try to beat the rush hour traffic. Well needless to say that didn't work. I made it home and luckily Brian was running late too. Met up at 6pm and cleared PE shortly thereafter heading Southeast to the sword grounds. His 26' sailfish has a nice ride to it and made easy work of the way out.
I rigged the squids and had a four line spread out by about 7ish. We used his two 80's and my two Tiagra 50w's at depths of 100, 200, 250 and a deep tip line we adjusted a few times throughout the night. I counted about a dozen other boats in the area and we heard a few reports of landed fish with all the baits hit at depths less than 200 feet. One boat - I don't know who had a 66incher on the deck. At about 8:30pm the green light on our 100' ballon started rising to the surface. Right about then we started the swordfish scramble dance which is pretty much like rednecks breakdancing. Not pretty. Brian came tight on the line and I raced all over the boat pulling in the sea anchor, trying to clear the lines and helping him into his harness. It was a good fight with Brian and his Penn 80 vs the sword. They duked it out for about 20 minutes or so then one of the lines that I had not yet cleared starts screaming off.

My first thought was "This is awesome a sword double-header." Then my second thought was, "Crap, a sword double-header!"

It took about a few more seconds before we realized that we were fighting the same fish. Brian did an awesome job leading the fight. He pulled the very green sword to the boat and she promptly showed us her big eye ball and went off on a run. She ran directly under the boat and popped up on the other side.

Now I am thinking she is going to break us off, good thing she is bill wrapped on the second line at least - right. She somehow missed the engines and popped up again when I decided to sink the gaff in her and invite her for dinner. 53 1/4 inches.

We reset the lines and pressed our luck again until a little after 10pm. I washed the blood off of the deck and was pulling in the last of the lines when a huge shark made his presence felt by scraping into the engines and circling around us so close you could have reached his dorsal fin knee high. I am trying to see if my shark pictures came out on my cell phone and if they did I will post them. I think it was a big ol Lemon Shark which reminded me of that line from jaws - we are gonna need a bigger boat. We headed home as our night was through.

Great time out there and "my leaders don't break" - LOL. Nice job on the sword Biran and I am looking forward to dinner.

Tight lines,

Ben.
