Default New Lattitude reporting

This past week was the best I have seen the water in what seems a year. We actually had 4 nights in a row with calm seas through Saturday night.

We started out Tuesday night and plowed through 3-5's and then hit the stream and they were 5-7 with the tops blowing off. We left early with no bite.

The next night was glass calm but a slow bite for us with 1 fish and a pulled hook. We had the Tinkers macs all over us. We bailed them in for over an hour putting more than 60 in the boat. We kept a few dozen in the well and iced the rest.

The next night we set up for the Tinks but they never showed up so we baited up with squid and dead Tinks. Still a slow night, we went 1 for 3 with a legal fish in the boat for Mike Liberty who spent 2 nights with us.

Saturday night got hot for us. Again we couldn't find the Tinks so we baited with Squid and dead Tinkers. 3rd rod goes out and we see the float laying sideways plain as day. We get tight on an awsome fish, got him near the boat and he circles a few times and comes up inbetween the 2 engines and gets his bill stuck in their somewhere. This was a team effort as I put a gaff in his head and had the angler hold on to it. Took another gaff and got the tail with it so we can tail rope it and pull it out from under the starbord engine. Nice fish about 130 pounds.

We went a few hours with no bite then we got the bite on the long jug. I looked over and I thought it drifted to close to the another jug. I go to move the rod away and line starts coming off. We are tight so Nathan gets on this fish while his buddy Duane is playing with the shallow tip rod. I notice a light under us moving around. Duane is already at the leader and starts pulling it in, fish is boatside so quick work we stick it. Fish plays lethargic so we quickly pull him in and then he goes bolistic. I thought I was in a fight getting punched in the side somewhere. Fish just went nuts in the cockpit. Nathan's fish pulls the hook boatside. So our bites were shallow and deep. Can't wait to do it again but I'll take the rest after 4 nights in a row.

Nice job!!
bring 100 proof something and spray it into the gills and the fish won't move.
It's a little trick that a kayak fisherman I know does
