Default PE 1/7/07 Sword Report

Headed out of PE for my last sword trip before heading back overseas, so far this leave I had been 0/3 on trips. I really wanted to tangle with a sword before heading out.
Left the inlet around 1700 and set up off Dania around 1800 just east of the 50.
Drift was a little slower than the last few trips, just over 3knots. We had lots of Tinks in the lights and at about 1945 started checking lines. I brought the deep tip in and then reset it. Then started with the 200' balloon and saw a little tappy wappy on the deep tip...then nothing, so I figured I would finish the 200 and then check the bait. After setting the 200 out I get another tap on the tip and just started reeling like a mad man(plus I have a busted elbow)
then all I feel is the bounce of the weight after probably bringing in 100 ft. After a minute or two of thinking he got the best of me....smash and off he goes...reel/set/time to play.
First sword I have ever come tight on. Truly a great feel and when he popped his head up on the surface I was all smiles...first sword boatside.
First sword for the new boat and first for me...
53" weighed at the dock at 72lb.
Keep on catchin
