It was a real treat to get my first sword on the first weekend of the New Year. Ray has invested over 400+ miles on my 13 trips to darkside to go after those beast.. Every trip has had it's ups and downs.. So finally landing a nice sword is one to remember..I respect everyone on this Forum and all those who also travel to the darkside.. You are truely a great group of people..

Nice catch Chris! Glad to hear you got your fish. Mad props Ray for gettin on the meat .Deep bait :banana . Enjoy dem fillets. Try the belly meat. Some people don't like it but I swear it tastes like baconish grilled.
MMMMMMM So when is the cookout? What color squid?

quack, chris ( the one on the right ) was feeling like superman. you cant see it in the pic, but under the fish bloodied shirt is a big white S. he told me he went to the scales sunday morning and thinks that fat 57"er might have squeeked out 3rd. we never weighed it, but it was thick and round.

DF2. i went with an all red spread this time. still have not used live bait yet. were all set-up for tinkers or runners but nothing live as of yet.

on another note... all though i like my flying squid, the time it takes to rig them suxx. the squid rigging tecniques from captian ollie on the 201 trip are the bomb. heads tied and dyed at work, rigged and soaking in minuets. thanks for the tips capt ollie... i owe you a cold one. Ray
