Long drive but last night probably seemed well worth it. I've never fished on the west coast and my wife's family lives out that way. Too long of a trailer ride for me. Long runs to fishing grounds over that way? What do you usually fish for over there?

snook, and kingfish near shore sometimes people run out to 90 or 120 miles, sometimes you get dolphin out there we did it once and got a couple dolphin and a small shark. But fishing out there is rarely good. Backwater and beach, and nearshore fishing is your best bet.

Sounds like you guys had a great night, kudos. I was never able to guesstimate propper weights so one night I decided to weigh 2 fsh I caught at lhp. 65 and 69" respectively and they were fat as a cow LOADED WITH SQUID and they weighed in at 139 and 163 lbs. If i posted without weighing, I prolly would have said 175 and 225 easy.

You guys had a great night

the 60 incher's belly was loaded with squid and she was pretty fat.
