Default My 11 year old daughters 1st 12-28-06

I was out on the Halimeda with Capt Buddy at the wheel, Capt Andy, and Davie, It was to be my Daughter Shayna's first sword, Lines were set and it wasn't long before one of the 80's starts to scream ! She fought him like a champ for about an hour and then he comes up and Davie is leadering him up and the hook pulls right at the boat. I grabbed a gaff and sunk it home before he sunk away ! She has her first sword on the deck all by herself !
We reset and now its my turn and a 72 incher on the deck, and we left a line out during the chaos which had a mold craft rubber squid on it, low and behold we have a 3rd which we released in great shape. Thats right mold craft rubber squid !!! now everybody hit the tackle shop and get yourself a fake squid!
We were outta there by 9:30 and 3 for 4, A wonderful night to burn into the memory bank !
We found out this Am that the world record for 11 year old female is 70 lbs, Hers was pushing 100 easy. If we only had known she might have had a record.

thats awesome! too bad you cant get her in the books. great job on her not getting sick! I had some family from up north with me that are crazy hunters. They were sick after 2 minutes of shutting the engines off on the 50. owell. They stuck it out and we boated one about 65 inches pretty quick.

Good job heard you on the radio you sounded like the proud papa. Did she fight it from the rodholder?

My daughter is 14 and caught her first during the summer
