Default 12/23-12/24 Sword reports!!!

Figured Jr would be all over this, but he's prolly still recovering lol... this was copied for the FS site--

12/23- Myself, Tuna Devil and Relentless33(Jr.) for Swordfishing Central venture out to do battle last night and it paid off!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!
Could not keep a bait in the water! There was a 30 minute stretch where we only fished one rod because it kept getting nailed!

We were 4-5 before 8:30 then the bite tapered off for us.
Jr. Harnessed up on the first which was a pup, TD winched in the next pup. The next fish hit an 80W mounted on a tree stump so TD cranked it up and that was the 53" we took. 10 minutes later the tip rod is singing and Jr. gets in the harness and is on the fish for 20-30 minutes and did a great job... hooks pull!! Oh well... it felt like a good one . Oh well! 15 minutes later the deep tip is singing once again. I harness up and work his @$$ up on the 30W lrs with 100lb JB in about 15-20 minutes! Fish was about 60" and in great shape so we let her go(Karma!).

That's what it all about!! I've been trying for a night like this for a while and finally got it!

btw, Had the perfect legal/record fish in the light take a glance at the fly...and passed up a real squid too

12/24 Spent the moring playing around in the skiff. Around 1:30 I get a call from Beerman asking about the seas. Naturally, I tell him it's fishable! About 30 minutes before they leave the dock I manage to get clearence from the parents to do a half of a half night! Oh Yea!!!!! Meet up with Beerman, Headfirst, Another Grand and the Cherry(Groupergirl from another forum). We decided to take a peak even though it was blowing. Got out the inlet which means no turning back.... we then realize we should have gone flounder gigging lol. Set up just before dark and soon after, the shallow tip with a rigged spanish mac get slammed!!! OH YEA!!! BIG NASTY!!! Nope!! Groupergirl works the fish up(this was no grouper lol!!) and it's barely legal so we keep it for her. Had 2 more swordy run offs and a Castro night shark. About 9pm we start taking 6-7 footes over the side of the 33' Palmetto, so headed in!

Merry Christmas to all! I'm reallllly hoping to try out my new 50's before 07!

Nick I must be losing my touch. You almost outfished me................ on rods. I went 5/5 Thank you for losing a fish Jr............. My fish were all out deep, 4/5 on blue or green squid, 1 ate a red, and all but one one the shallow bait. I started a little late and the bite was over by the midnite hour. My crew made me stick it out till 3.

I'm just kidding Jr.
