Default 3 for 1

Well I just got off the plane and wanted to give you an update. I was out in Florida for 4 days and we fished for the swordies for 2 nights. The first night was Sat. and we had 3 good bites and I finally landed the third. He was a little guy that we put a tag in and let him go! I want to Thank Burt Moss for taking Greg and I out fishing! We had a great time and I caught my first Swordie! Thanks Burt!! I must get off to work right now, I will post pix and our Halloween adventure later tonight, can you say Trick or Treat, well we got a treat in that ruff weather last night!! Story later!!
Dara

PS- Drew (Darkside) it was very nice to meet you and your wife!! I'd also like to send her a CWF tee, so email me when you get a chance!!

Default Report & Pix

We started out Sat. fishing for Dorado and Sailfish.
First we went and caught our bait (ballyhoo) and then
ran up to Boca. We trolled the ballyhoos and caught
2 nice dolphin. We decided to head in early and get
the boat ready for that night. Burt and Ryan were
ready to go at 5:00 so we headed out to the grounds.
We saw quite a few boats out that night. It was
really neat to see the sun rise and set over the
ocean all in one day. What a moon it was too, it
came up all bright red! At 7:10 the tip rod with a
Tinker Mack goes off, FAST! That fish was ripping
off line, and the rod was bent in half! After a
short battle I got the bait back, just smashed. Ok,
so it is early so we put them back out and within 2
hrs the 80 goes off. This gear almost broke my
back! The fish was taking steady and at one time I
thought he came off, so I cranked like mad and came
tight again, he must have been swimming at the
boat. After another short battle I got the hooks
back, that bait was a squid. So we put them out once
again and 2 more hours go by and we hear just a
couple of clicks, so I throw it in gear and come
tight to the fish. This one as not getting away! I
got him to the boat in 10 mins. Put a tag in him and
let him go. Estimated at 50 lbs, but hey its a
swordfish, Right?! So I can mark that one off my
list! Here are a couple of pix from Saturdays day
and night trips:

DoDos...

Here is my Swordie and Burt gettiing the hook out of him...

My Little Swordie with his tag...

Since the Swords were biting so good we decided to go
again on Halloween night. We headed out at 4:00 and
it was blowing and raining, which is normal for
Florida right? Well it never let up, it only got
stronger, but we kept going to the grounds! We were
the only boat out there and if that weather was in
Cali
(35 knots with 6-10 foot waves) you wouldn't even
see one boat!! We got out to the grounds and set up,
the current was screaming at 7 knots, so we were
drifting very fast. At 6:35 we get 2 bites and Ryan
put hooks in his and after a 15 min battle we have
the fish to the boat, a nice one and over the rail it
comes! So we put the lines back out for a couple of
hours and then call it a night. There we a few times
while we were waiting for a bite that you could see
only a wall of water coming towards you and it would
break on the corner of the boat!! That was some
wicked weather! Here is a pic of Ryan's Pumpkin
Swordie! Happy Halloween!

What a year! We start off the year with Greg getting
a Swordfish in Feb. in Florida. Only to come home
and start the season off with Greg Catching a 118#
Swordie at home! Then follow that up with 9 Marlin
and my Florida Swordie to cap off the year!!

Some friends of ours from Cali were also out that same night...Keith Poe, Chuck & Bill Boyce, they were fishing with Curt so...did you guys get one?????? I read at another site that you did, so tell us what happened!! Did you get footage, Chuck is a great camera guy!!!! I heard of a few fish caught that night, just wondering what your story is!?!?!??

It depends what night you are out there and who else is out there. It can be amusing at times, but yes, it is pretty bad. Some nights it is dead silent, other nights people share good info, and some nights it is just BS.

Your right! Saturday night was really bad and Sunday night it was silent! That happens very little here, some many people here have DF's so they would know who it was Immediately!
