Default Friday night Swords on the Rough C's

3pm Dad calls and say we can take the BW after a little confusion and yes and no's the previous day. Called up Get Narced since he had just got his reels respooled that day and wanted to test out that Jerry Brown stuff. Then I figured I shout snookit an IM since he's got 50's too . Left the dock at about 6(was supposed to 530, but Nick S says it was Tek's fault ). Got the spread out just before dark. Right as I finished clearing all the cr@p off the deck, I look over and see my 50 double over... what! A fish! But Get Narced is on the boat... this can't be right(he had a pretty bad curse too). My little bro, Chris, started cranking while Nick S and pops cleared the tip rods. Fish was coming up pretty easy like pup, but it sure felt heavy. Now here's where the fun starts... the fish got tangle up in the short and middle jug... both of those had JB... and the fish hit mono! Oh no ! Short comes up and Eric(snookit) does so crazy maneuvers and opens up some loops and passes the rods through a few times and we were good to go... 1/2 way there. The next jugs was just as bad, but Eric pulled off another miracle getting that mess un done. Now we're Golden! Nick S gets harnessed up and takes over. fish still comes in easy but heavy... foul hooked? I grab the weight and just as the bimini hit the to roller, HELLO!!!! That fish said SEE YA! Nick bumped the drag up to about 22lbs and worked him back up like a champ. Eric had the poon in hand just in case it was a good one. Sure enough, " Oh yit! Stick him!" Eric put the steal through it and she's done . Text book dart shout too... right through the gill plates. 69"!!! Got the deck cleared/cleaned, go the tangles undone, snapped a bunch of pics, then I look at my watch... 8:45? Sweet! Drifted a long for a little while longer then called it at 10:30

Nick S has some pics of his camera and when dad wakes up I'll figure out how to get the pics off his new camera

Very nice !! Takes the pressure off when you boat one by 9:00..huh.
Certifiable went 0 for everything last nite. We did have a flying fish jump in the boat to get the skunk out.

We finally made it out last night also. Got a late start and set lines around 8:30. While putting out the jug rods, we had a flat lined squid wayyy out that got smoked.

Good hook set and we fought the fish about an hour out of rod holder . Got her close to the boat and hit her with the straight gaff. Fish measured at 62 inches.

Drifted until 11:30 and had some more action on the tip rods, but nothing glued. Called it a night and headed in.
