Well it wasn't meant to be for us to deploy a PSAT last night, but it wasn't from lack of trying! The Dusky PUMPKINEATER, left PE last night with the hopes of deploying another tag on a Big fish.
Instead we hooked up on a fish around 11pm and Drew was on the rod for approximately 6 hrs. hb Unfortunately, the fish wasn't a great candidate due to the length of the fight and the condition it came up in. So Eric (Scientist from NOAA) made the call not to tag it. Eric was able to take swabs and other samples for their lab. It was an epic battle of the wills to board this 92" fish! Also, a special thanks to MY THREE SONS (Nate and Kenny) for assisting us in our efforts to get the fish in the boat. It was a DONKEY. Eric will e-mail pictures and I'll post as soon as I can. :thumleft: Great job Drew, Eric and to all that tried to help us last night, unfortunately no one close by caught a fish for us to tag. Another tag boat will be going out tonight, Lynne Louise (Ken Taylor) with Dirk from NOAA, so keep your eyes and ears open...you can contact them on CH 72. Steve (PumpkinEater) |

Is this the fish I saw Wednesday night draped out of both sides on My Three Sons? It was sure a slob...we went 0-1 with another pup swimming in the 'glow.
