Default Ok Guys you asked for them!

Capt Ray R called me last minute to see if I was available to take a trip for him. I said sure no problem and off we went on the My Martica. WE ran out, loaded up on runners and off we went. Set up shallow and nada. Re set right down the ledge in 1400 and nada. By this time it was 1am, and we were bangin our heads tryin to figure out where they were. After a quick rock- paper -sizzor we off into the deep! Set the baits out, Jeff L chenged a light color on a certin bait and we deployed them again. About 25 minutes later the #1 goes off like a bat out of hell. We get tight and the fight is on. Jeff and I are clearing rods, and Ray is at the helm. We quickly get them all in and start backing down on the fish. About 1 hour into the fight we get the lead off and take a look at the fish, Ray and I boat yelled "Nice Fish" I said " Looks like a 150"< in the shadow of the water and moon.> 45 minutes later we have the fish right behind the boat. Jeffs grabbs the leader and i stick her with the straight gaff. After about 4 seconds i realize she is way over 150 and yell "Second Gaff" Jeff hits her again and we haul her in the boat. We look and say we cant believe how fast we got her in, and how could we have said it was a 150!

After about 100pics we headed in at about 5am. Here are just a few pics, i will have more when the clients get home tommrow and on the computer!

Jeff Liederman and myself

True , true.
"There is no "I" in team

I would like to have seen the look on thier faces when you hit a 400lb class fish w a "straight" gaff.

You are on a short list of folks I know that would take on that type of challenge.

Default SWEEET PHISH

WHAT A SLOB. We fished last night with the same early results. We too ended up DEEP and pulled the hook on a beast that ate a 2lb grunt on the deep jug. Glad somebody got to use the gaff  . Congrats fellas thats one hell of a fish :thumleft: .
Good work fellas,
