Did the fish have any orange (pumpkin) color to it?

Default Stomach contents

That picture speaks volumes. There definately have been alot of squid around lately. We had them in the lights tue night for a long time. Still haven't boated our first sword. Closest yet though. Saw him twice. I thought he was done when it came to the top 2nd time, so I tightened down just a little and tried to bring it to the boat. As soon Capt K leaned over with the gaff, the fish darted off and pulled the hook. So close and yet so far. Oh well, only our third trip, and the first time we went out I hadn't even found this website yet, and boy were we clueless. ops: As always, thanks for the posts guys.

This site has showed me TONS of information and given me sooo much advice. We were just as clueless on our first trip lol.

We did get lucky though...with the anarexic, mentally ill, 74" fish that only weighed 141. Perfect break in fish though.

Good luck and you'll stick 'em next time.

Yeah we're not discouraged. If anything seeing that fish disco light reflecting off its sides is burned into my memory. I can't wait to get back out there. Charters and other obligations will have us tied up till next week. Hopefully we'll be on the darkside again soon.
