Left the dock around 7:30 p.m. (late start I know). Ran south to the 45 Square from Jupiter Inlet.
Had lines in after sunset. Heard a couple of bites on the radio. Then at 10 or 10:30 the 300ft tip rod has line starting to come off. Paul comes tight on it and I'm getting the harness on when the long jug starts going and then a few seconds later the shallow tip starts going. Three fish!! Lose both the other fish, but I'm still tight. Look over the side just in time to see a free Swordy come up to the surface and whip around really quick and head back down. We were in the fish.
I keep tight on the fish and pretty soon I get to the weight. ''Paul, help me!" While Paul is getting the weight off I soon see the purple LP coming up....LP...LP...LP and Swordfish....still coming. All of a sudden the fish comes out of the water and the bill hits the side of the boat. Then rockets back down. Takes some more nice runs. One point I look up and two lines are across the bow!! It was crazy. Thanks to Adam's quick thinking him and Paul got everything under control. Get him up and he may of went 47'', but we let him go anyways after a quick picture. He swam away perfect. My first real caught by myself Swordfish.
We got that Sword on the purple LP and got two other bites on it too. Thanks Tek.
Get one more bite at 10:58 at that is it until 12 when we pull the lines to head in. Really fun night for my boats first Sword voyage. Thanks Paul and Adam.
