Default More Swords from Venice LA 3/3

We had what I would call a perfect trip, 3/3 on swords plus some warm up tuna. We got offshore about 4 pm wed and caught some livies at a rig not far from our sword spot. Then put two nice 100-110 tunas in the boat including some downtime as we had to let one re-take as much line as he wanted so we could cut and splice the line to an unbroken rod. We told him not to to lift too high....... but.
Next Capt Eddie Burger and myself annouced our plans to our crew that we were taking them to a new spot rather that the spot that we had be catching them in. their reply,...... bull sh_t!!..... we will have to wait till next time for some exploring, or get a new crew or both.
At the "old" spot first drift the shallow line got quickly picked up, we got tight and put a 51" in the boat. continued the drift, nothing. We Re set to start deeper. a 62" snatched an swallowed our bait, after some good pressure he came in after about 30 min. Then after another re-set the deep line got hit just after puting the rod in the holder, 47" brought to the boat and released after some serious reviving. He had apparently gone after the weight and got really tangled up. We at first thought we had killed him but he came back and swam away fine. That was it. I hate it then the boat's fuel milage goes to crap because of a loaded fish box.

we have to run about 25 miles down the river then about 20 to 30 more in the gulf for the closest locations, there are some good grounds, we hear, to the east and west but would be good deal further for leaving out of Venice.
