Friday night in the Keys (Islamorada)

Left Islamorada about 3:30PM and headed south. Set up around 6:30 in 1500 feet. Didn't get a hit until 10:30 PM and it was a Black Tip Shark about 5 feet. Seas were nice - 1 to 2 and it was a wonderful evening out there. Went about 10 miles further and then we reset the drift again and exactly at 12 midnight got a hit. It hit at 200 feet down. We were using 80Wides in a chair and in about 4 minutes had a fat 63" swordfish in the gaff. Pulled him thru the transom door and had a "high 5"! About 30 minutes later had another 4 foot black tip shark and that was all folks. We called it quits at 2:45AM and didn't get home until 5:30. Quite a night.
