As far as your nickname Jr., let's not forget that Mullet was one of the choices. I think you should be happy with Jr. and call it a day.

Here's the pic of the TLD he broke. We've been told it's from overtightening the screws that hold the reel on.

A boat that docks 3 down from mine had the same thing happen on their TLD 50 when fighting a blue marlin. I think they zip tied it to the rod or something similarly absurd to finish the fight. If you knew the guys who did it, the whole thing wouldn't seem that crazy. These same guys had their plan for getting a grander into the boat, which involved a rope going over the tower and using the prop as a winch. What else would you expect from a redneck and a coonass?

JR: go with Tiagras and you won't have that same problem again. Also, you'll actually be able to hear your clicker. Those TLD clickers are way too quiet. The Tiagra clicker is the loudest, most awful sounding one on the market. I love to hear it go off!

That will be our next step. We're going to wait a little while though.

Jr,

Anymore info on that tagged fish? Why do you think it was tagged in Miami?

I think that the tag is from Miami because it says "75 VIR. BCH. DR. MIAMI. FL 33149 USA REWARD on it

What made you switch to 80's ??

What line capacity is on the 50w versus the 80w's ??

I'm asking the line capacity because shimano says one thing and someone who has them says another.

Thanks in advance

I switched to 80's Because I take a lot of newbies on the boat. It is easier to have them fight a fish out of the rod holder. So I would rather have 80's. As far as line capacity talk to TEK I am not exactly sure he would know the specifics.

Have you put an 80 wide in a standup situation. I'm thinking about it mostly for Jr. here. My Dad likes the rod holder, I harness up every time.

Gotcha, the tag is from Miami. I thought you meant it was tagged off Miami, they will have to get that info for you out of the data base. Good job, that's good to see some of those tagged fish are making it. Maybe next time you can re-tag one instead of overflowing your freezer as stated in your other post.

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Man, when we cut that fish open my Dad and I looked at eachother in amazement. We thought it was a pumpkin for sure. We were told it wasn't but it was pretty close. The night after, we grilled it and it was by far better than any other sword I have ever had. Even the pumpkin sword from King's (a local market). Well, everything is better because it's so fresh but this was amazing. Comparing it to the other fish, the other fish was pink and this is orange. I think we have a pumpkin on our hands my brother

About the freezer, I think it's because we put a whole fishload of steaks in at once. So it was too warm.

Sorry Broadbill, my Dad and I agreed the fish should die after ruining one of our 50's. It even gave me the best visual I have in my brain. Although I do have a few other very nice ones
I wouldn't mind tagging every pup that we release or even get to the point of releasing a 65 incher. We would have no problems with that at all. If the fish is even close it's let go, unless there is no question it isn't stuck......right away. And so far we have questioned every fish except the pups so I think we are doing okay
