Default Quick and easy way to measure a sword

The best way I have found out for a quick measure of a legal fish.It all depends on the boat you are fishing but it works the same just with diff starting points.I simply measure out 47in on the gunnel of the boat starting from the transom corner or a rod holder and put a piece of electrical tape at 47in.I do it on both sides just in case.On a fish you are not sure about just safely bill it and quickly lay it on the gunnel.Put the fork of the tail at your starting mark and if the tape is past the bottom of the jaw it is short and a quick dump back to the sea. This method works great for other fish you may be targeting on any given day like snap, group, mack, dolphin or what ever you are catching.

Nice tip Quack, quick and easy is always the best way to release em. One day it will be nice to catch the average 200 pound fish.
