Default Night Life Swording 2/23 4 for 4

Talked to mate1 2 days ago and decided to take his pop's and his pop's buddy Doug out for some swording. After leaving work before the managers meeting (oops) i rushed home loaded up and off we went. Cleared inlet about a quarter till 5 to find a strong gusty south wind with a 1-2' tight chop. After getting about 5 off it leveled out and we we're cruising smooth. Setup before sunset and realized the drift was out HARD! By the time the sun went down we we're on the 49 line and counting. Got around the 48 and first rod goes off and what do you know it's the Capt Mitch Flat line! Cherry popped 53''er in the boat. During that fight we had the shallow tip rod take a run but it was right as i was billing the fish and couldn't worry about it and then it went slack. About 20min later the Deep tip goes off and u comes a pup that we let live another day. About 20min goes by and the shallow tip rod starts creeping, Doug gets tight and brings up a shark that we released. Now i don't usually reel in fish unless 1 thing happens, all 3 anglers have already fought a fish and dang do i love when it happens! By this time we around around the 47.5 when we see a NICE sword swim right into the light, bumps up against the swordlight, circles around the motor and disappears. About 10min later the shallow tip goes off and a FAT 56''er hits the deck! The bite seemed deep for us and the only one of the live Tinkers we sent down got touched. Overall a great night and some more people hooked on the darkside! BTW somehow when that fish took a run off with no one on the rod the fish boat side clipped the line and there goes a DISCO

I want to thank Anothergrand as tonight was a trial run for a new squid rigging technique that seemed to have a good hookup ratio!

Did anyone else put anything in the boat? Nothing last night. Did not have enough weight to keep baits down with they way the current ripping last might.

Not to hate, but do you really need to kill two fish? One of those has enough meat for 10 people.......

Barry has a lot of friends and shares his fish with them. Also other people were on the boat and they have friends and family that like fish also. No fish goes to waste around this place.

Went out of Hillsboro. Do not feel so bad knowing just a few fish were caught with the number of boats that were out there last night soaking them. Second time out and still in the learning curve, and trying to find a productive area with the group of guys that I fish with up this way without having to run all way to Miami and get in the way of the pro's while learning rigs, depth setting, drag settings, Etc.

Heard someone caught a slob recently during the day while fishing for sharks can anyone confirm?

Well to answer your question, Sometimes Yes sometimes NO. The little one was a cherry popper, the second one had some meat on it and we kept him. My feezer/fridge was BONE empty as i went 2 trips in a row with no fish. I have 3 different people that i ALWAYS give fish to.

Now let me ask you, do you have to ask that question?? Did i keep under my limit? YES i would rather keep 2 little fish that don't produce baby's then 1 big fish that produces 9 million eggs at a time.

Quack quack - i work retail and make my schedule, today i actually have off all day but i make my schedule so i go in early then go in late then go in early then go in late. It helps get me out often!

Yeah, i have never taken 3, nor do i take 2 if i have fish in the freezer. There have been nights where we caught one fish and i let the other 3 people split it all because i had fish. I also stated popping a cherry which means that person nor the other goes out swording, so for them the more the better they will vacume seal it and it will last 6 months! O well.

The most important part is i reported my fish (like i do everytime) Last night before i went to sleep. So it will HELP as far as that goes!

And i would not say a word to you. I wouldnt only because i like fresh fish, like i said above i wont take any if im full. So if i take to much then im eating frozen fish! Also i get out a lot, someone that fishes once a month might go a month or 2 or 3 with no new fish!

Exczzzzzzactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OR WAIT BETTER YET let go to the Conner super market and spend $14.99+ a pound for a SWORD STEAK that are caught by Long Liners that yield more fish in a single drift/set than every recreational sword fisherman on the entire east coast of Florida in a single month.

I personally would rather catch my own at a cost of a hell of allot more than 14.99 a pound. we've never put the Numbers together because suicide is Illegal;y.

BUT FREE SPEECH IS NOT so the day I post a three fish night (if ever)............Leave your knives at home because its no place for a gun fight........Capt, Karl Mullinax Islander/Deepfryer

Sorry FB I am of my box now =;
