Default Swording 1-24 4 for 6

Headfirst, Uncle Buck, Mate1 and myself Hit the south drift and got out early until a minor problem arises. 3 miles offshore turned around went back home and then came back again.

Plan B- Cleared the inlet at 6 and headed to my "Been pretty hot" spot. lines in just before 7. about 10min into the drift the tip rod goes off. Solid run, went to throw the drag into strike and the rod holder twisted on the rail. Stopped reeling so i did not loose the rod and came slack on the fish, you know how that works. Next fish comes on the other tip rod i am working. I drop it down deep, and slowly bring it up and with the weight out of the water and the lp/swivel only 6 ft or so below the water i feel a thump. I drop back and sure enough line starts peeling of the reel and we are tight. Polar is on the rod first (the only cherry on board) and after about a 15min battle brings a nice 48'' fish boat side. We let this guy go hoping to get something bigger. about 10min goes by and as Headfirst is standing in front of the front tip rod it gets nailed. This bait was set shallow so by the time the next person in line got sized up on the harness Headfirst has this fish boat side! I go to leader the fish and see the is actually a nicer fish. I dart him just for good measure and over the gunnel comes a nice 53''er! Next up Uncle buck who bring in a nice pup for release. about 20min now goes by and we see a green LP SCREAMING across the surface, i reel as fast as i can and come tight, the fish darts toward the boat and he's gone! We reset and move a little in and drift for about 30min with nothing. We decide to call it a night when 2 out of the 4 reels were already in the boat. UB yells "There's a sword in the light!!!" Mate1 reels the tip rod up fast as he could and when it gets about 40'' down the fish darts right towards it. We get tight and get another pup boat side. Right after a let this guy go i see a big fish swim up in the light and turn around, i dropped a line back with no weight to no avail. Final tally 4 for 6. This crew was ready, and even had a plan C! ( . )( . )

Flatfish, We were out as well last night. We went 2/4 both pups and a large hammerhead. The tinkers were so thick it looked like you could walk on them.

Good job to all. We ended up 2 for 5 one pup and one 47-49 inch fish. we released both to fight another day. It was a triple cherry popper trip. First sword for my friend Paul, first sword on his boat, first fish for new reel. It must have been a day off from school for all the pups out there. It seemed like alot of pups caught last night. I did not see a tinker all night. Most of our bites were on a tip rod at 100ft 4 out of the 5 bites. When is the next window

We had two slashed baits. Other than Beerman, it was an extremely quiet night in North Palm.

First time I have seen that. Any size to the fish that tried to eat your light

We were 1-4 with a 50" fish and heading for home before 9 pm. Besides that smaller fish, now I know what it feels like to get spooled....Fish hit a live tinker and pulled off about 1000yds of Jerry Brown like nothing. We probably had 35lbs of drag on him for the last half of the fight and we never even slowed him. We tried chasing with no luck. Had him on for about 15 minutes. Submarine?

We hooked up at 6:45 just south of the '00 and just outside the 50 line. Like Albar said, the tinkers were very thick there, but we got hit on a squid at 100 feet. 20 minutes later, had a 59 incher on board and made it home by 8:45

Default No swordfish to report here.

A couple of "fishing" addicts were out on Finalpoint lastnight, Kevin Q, Tyler and myself. We went through a dozen squid, with a few balloons popping off and and the flat line getting some action but never got tight on a thing. Just one brief run-off on the flat line.

We had no tinkers on our first drift 25:56.xx 79:49.3x till beyond the the 26:08. Caught a few Sardines.

Second drift going back south and starting at a 79:51, since out first drift was out and now we had 0 mph wind then gradually getting something from the SW. Then we hit some tinkers. There was a nice pod of them all over the chum slick, but not think enough to walk on, they were heavy around the 26:08. Will these we put out a couple live ones, deep and shallow, but no further action on these either until we packed it up for the night.

The only fish in the boat were sardines and Tinkers. Next time I am going to be better prepared. I will make sure that I bring some mustard Sauce too.

Wino - We saw a couple of Makos out there last week. We put one in the boat and it took a live Tinker. I suspect that you got spooled by one of those. Maybe we need to start a new club. The JBHC got spooled with 800 yds. plus Club: you can be the charter member.

Wino - I would say mako. It's weird how those things will just take off and never stop. Even a 200 lber that we had once dumped 3/4 of a spool on a 50 wide on the first run.
