Reel IntuBaiter team went out laast night out of Matheson Hanmmock in Miami. About 9:30 Pm the 250 ft. Tip rod goes off. James puts the muscle and lands a 52" fish. We were using squid. Sword had about 10 squids and a large spanish sardine in his stomach. Went home early at 1 for 1. Another succesfull trip thanks to this awesome website.

Thanks Chum, We started our drift a few miles south of the triple lumps. Didn't see a soul out there. Beautifull flat calm weather. Current was about 3.5 knots straight North with a slight eastward nudge. We were watching out for the "sword storm" but fortunately it never materialized.

I have been fishing down that way on a couple different boats. We have been doing real well from about the 25-32 line to about the 25-45 line out between the 79-52 and the 79-55. They have been nice fish and plenty of action right up until I went out with a couple guys who wanted to try swording for the first time a couple weeks ago. We ran all over the ocean one night for nothing (not even a bite). Fortunately these gentleman understand that this is why it is called fishing. So a week or so later they call me back and want to try it again and guess what, We picked another night with no fish caught. At least we had some molested baits. Fortunately there where some other boats swording in the area that where not catching anything either. Chummin I think we talked to you that night ( Friday July 9.) on the radio( I was on Raisin Cane).
I enjoy fishing down south. Good structure, less boat traffic, less fishing pressure, and if you discard the last two trips, good action. |
