Default Fished the South Grounds 6/9/05

Went out last night swording with Tiara43, Chummingwithchunk, Sabiking, SpinFreak and Snook1. Tiara mad an excutive decission to fish the south ground, something that he has been wanting to do for a while, but the bite has been so hot up on the north grounds that we have been fishing up there, which usually ment a 2 hour run back to stiltsville. Our fist drift before dark was straight north and ripping, we pulled the lines in and ran to an area that has produced fish for us before and re-set the lines as the sun was going down. The current was due north at 3.7-4 knots, there were Massive thunder storms well offshore of us while we were fishing.
Long story short we hooked Snook1 up with his first Swordie it was either 50 or 54 inches, we measured him twice once after we billed him to see if he was legal and once back at the dock. 9:45 and one fish in the boat (had another swordie come up with the fish to the boat). Lines are quickly reset, we are on a perfect drift heading right for the structure we want to drift over. 250 reel goes click click, Sabiking is on it like a fly on S#&t, no fish. Sit out the drift a little longer wind a seas pick up and the lightning is getting to close for comfort. Reel in the lines and the bait on the rod that got hit was slashed up. Run like hell to get out of the storm's path got back to the dock did the clean up thing and we all headed home in the Stinky, I mean the Sabiking mobile. Great night with great people thumbs up to team Tiara43.
