Default "Northern" Sword report in the flats boat

Well with the HOT bite down South and the FK tourney cancelled I had to get out there up this way out of St. Lucie. RodWorks (Matt from Crowder Rods) has today off and I said lets do a Half night since I had to come to work, HE WAS GAME....
Anyway get out to the #'s and baits in by 7:45, grab a beer and get comfy and see the tip rod bounce and bounce and bounce, then nothing, start reeling it in and the long ballon bait goes off and RodWorks is on it (he hasnt even got a cold one yet ) First fish in the boat at 8:10, a nice fat 50 incher (hit the 250 bait).......Whats the call head in or stay out for a few more, he!! its early lets STAY!!!

Get reset and at 9:00 another bounce, bounce, bounce then nothing, reel it in slashed bait, decide to check the others and one other slashed bait...oh well...thats swording. Get the baits back out and grab a beer, 10:45 roles around and we decide to give it another half hour........just as the clock strikes 11:15 the bouncey tip rod (300ft) finally goes screaming.....fish is going nuts out there and manages NOT to tangle any other lines, not sure how . I get harnessed up and a nice 60 incher in the boat!!

Head in around 12:15 after pics and clean up. What a great night on the flats boat in the stream. I wish the FK tourney didnt get cancelled!!!

Heres a pic. both fish were full of squids!!
