Default Friday night's report

Slasher, 2nd Chance and I take a virgin swordfisherman out to the 50 line to get him his first swordie. We leave the dock at around 5:30 and head out to set up our first drift. We take it out to the 47 line with no hits. We bring up the lines to reset and notice a slashed bait. 2nd drift start a little north of the first drift and take it out to the 47.5 with no hits (unless you count a ballon flying in the opposite direction a hit). I look at Tony and say let's give it one more shot and we agree on heading in pretty shallow for the 3rd and final drift of the night. Not 20 minutes into the drift and the 300' line starts screaming. Randy gets harnessed up and is fighting the fish. Seems to be a pretty decent fish so we yell and scream at him for a little bit and less than 10 minutes later, I hear the click, click, click on the 250' line. I tell 2nd Chance that we have a double header and come tight on the line. After about 30 minutes I get the 1st swordie to the boat and 2nd Chance hits it with the flyer. Now we are free to encourage Randy on (scream and yell at him) for the remainder of his battle. After a 1 hour 50 minute fight, we finally get a shot at the fish and see a bigger one swimming with it, but have no baits ready. Slasher hits it with his harpoon then 2nd Chance follows up with a nice gaff shot with the flyer. We drag her in and she measures out at 64". Official weight of 135#. . . not bad for a first fish.

Here are some of the pics.
During the fight we see a baby sailfish and then a baby swordie. What a beautiful sight it is to see baby swordies.

Me half asleep

Sweet! Good job for sticking with it late... We were out last night (saturday) and went 0-0. THere was a boat that reported a 40lb fish caught but nothing else...
