Default Team 2ndChance gets P.I.Nut his first Swordie 6/5/04

I went out last night 6/4/04 Swording with 2ndchance, Sabiking and P.I.Nut. We headed out of Hillsboro Inlet around 6:00pm and ran south and out deep. The bite was slow and we made a few drifts shallow to deep. Ran inside real shallow at around 3:00am, we were out for the duration, a fish or daybreak whichever came first. 3:30am the 275' line starts screaming, we're in. We get P.I.Nut set up in the belt and harness and the fight is on. 3:35am the 350 line goes off, we are hooked into a double header. 4:05 we boat a 65 #er, P.I.Nut is still doing battle with his swordie, but the harness broke so he is fighting it with a belt and hands only. 5:00am we stick a NICE FAT 64 INCH FISH with one of my harpoons. Just as we stuck it there was an even bigger fish swimming with it, didn't have any pitch baits ready and our hands were full, so we passed on trying to hook it. Got to LHP Marina around 6:00am and weighed the fish 135 pounds. Not bad for a Newbie's first fish . It is 8:45am, I just got home and I am spent. 2ndchance will post the pictures later. We also got a picture of a 8-10 inch swordie we had in the lights while fighting the other fish. What an awesome night out there .

Awesome... I'm heading out tonight, looking to get one over a hundred. What were they biting? How did Joe do?

Awesome Job guys. What bait were you using? Foul hooked or hooked in the mouth? Thanks, Al.

Caught them both on squid and on the deeper baits. Both of the swords were hooked solid deep down in the mouth, there was no way the hooks were pulling on those 2 fish. I'm still waiting for the e-mail with the pictures attached from 2ndchance.
