Default 18 Hour Fight Big Swordfish

This is quoted from the other forum

Quote:
7:30 this morning a guy calls out on 72 for anyone with cell phone coverage to make a call home for him. He had hooked up on a fish at midnight and was still fighting it. He didn't want the family to worry and call the CG. I relayed his number to Super Mario who graciously made the call and confirmed with me that he had gotten through. The captain was grateful and sounded worn out, so I didn't push for more info. He did tell me they had not seen the fish, hope he caught a monster.

Come on. Put that sucka in the boat. Maybe you got yourself a big tuna on the the end? Either way that fish is probably shark bait if you don't get her in the boat. Good luck.

Maybe it's a fish story??? I sure hope not...let's see a slob of a sword, a huge mako, or giant bluefin.

Awesome job on a epic fight. Just a quess on the weight from the fork length given the fish was possibly 375 to maybe 400lbs. Congrats to 2 deserving guys hopefully we will get a full report and possibly amount of drag they had on the fish.

Can't wait to hear the story!

So that makes 3 fish over 300 lbs in one night of fishing. When's the last time that happened on rod and reel?

I don't belive it has ever happened Tek. We are going to have a lot of boats fishing the Miami Tourney hoping they are the next boat to hook a slob. I also wonder if the big breeders are here to spawn on their migration back down to Cuba and the Gulf?
