Default All our bait was eaten

Went sword fishing Saturday nite, 10/31. set up at 2550/7950. When we finished our drift and pullled our lines, allof our squids and the one tinker mackeral had ben eaten. Had the reels on light drag. I was told that triggerfish eat them, any ideas?

Squids ate your baits. You should be checking them all through the night.

thanks for the advice, I was just curious because that is the first time something like that ever happened.

Yes, check baits at least once an hour. Squid, Saurys (cutlass/wahoo/lizard fish looking mofos) and other critters can munch on em.
