Pigs Feet!!! I hope I am not giving away a big secret but I was down in the keys last year with a buddy and that is what he uses. I didn't believe him until I helped pull his traps. Good Luck and I have a great mustard sauce recipe if you need it.

Commercial guys use the pig feet b/c they are cheap and stay in the trap for awhile. I personally prefer grouper heads!!!

Chicken necks and pigs feet. Keys style. They get the pig feet wholesale and dyed blue because you're not to eat them.

The markets have them if there are stone(d) crab fishermen selling there.

Most of the fish houses here in the stone crab capital (West Central, Fl) carry pigs feet in bulk for the guys who sell them crab. Some will sell some to others. Im not commercial but manage to get mine .35 a pound in like 25 pound boxes.
Never heard of anyone using chicken other than rec handlining on a string from the bank.
Fish heads ect... work good but only last 3 or 4 days as opposed to 10 or more days for pigs feet.
