Default The Streak is over with a BANG!

Dan (Catching) and I made a pact to fish every chance we could until we put a Sword on the deck of Great Escape. With just the 2 of us we headed out yesterday morning. We pulled out all of the tricks. First drop was at bottom by 7:45. At 8:00 the Fish is on! As she hit the surface, I see the dorsal fin. Get her close to the boat and we look at each other and said HOLLY CRAP! I darted right in gills and hear Catching say “Good Shot!”. She takes a run and manages to get the Poon line wrapped and we can’t get her by the door to pull her in.

On goes my mask and fins. I wasn’t about to loose this fish. Worried about possible Makos, we were both looking for any uninvited guests. I get in dive and see the poon line and cut it off. By 9:30 we had this 88 incher on the deck through the door and both us were completely out of breath!

Tried to weigh her in at LHP marina but their scale was broken. By our measurements she was 362 pounds. Dan thanks Brotha! It was an awesome day!

It might have been JJ. I have a feeling the one we had on that was larger though.

Dan and I could have used your youth and muscles yesterday. Let's get out there again soon. PM me your number when you get a sec.

Mike,

Thanks for giving me the privilege of getting you the first sword on your ride we have definitely tried hard enough over the past few weeks and just the two of closed the deal

When the LP popped the breaker on the one outlet when she hit I thought it was all over but with your boat handling I was able to switch it over then reeling it in with my thumps your perfect shot with the poon then her running under the boat after she almost took my head off tangling up in the rudder thinking she was gone agian after the wind on was cut when I hit her with the flyer and hung on for dear life as she beat the crap out of the boat as I kept her tail out of the water so she could not run again you having the balls to jump in 20 miles off to cut the harpoon rope was just to much as I looked out for Mrs Mako with the bleeding Sword it was great fishing with you and can not wait until next weekend

Not just a big fish but a great experience

Next weekend can not come fast enough
Dan

I've been so excited I forgot all about all the other stuff. It was the grace of God that gave us that fish and kept us safe. It will be day I will never forget.

ps I reported the fish on NMFS this morning.

No she was not a pumpkin but she tasted real good, did bbq at the office for my crew yesterday and cooked up 30 steaks, dinner two nights in a row, friends, family and neighbors all have a few steaks but just enough left over to make a few pounds of dip for the tournament

Amazing how fast a fish that size will go
