we caught this fish off of keylargo in 1450 feet on squid, on an electrmate 12/0 senator combo. fish measured 103" but we werent able 2 get a true girth measurement somewhere around 55". the bag of ice was a joke. im new 2 the forum and i guess its agood way 2 introduce myself.

I love my ELECTRA MATE reels.Those dam! motors have been around for a long time and I have caught so many Queens, Mistys, Donkeys, and have even pulled my 25 Dusky backwards on a 9/0 920XP on the reef on a big black grouper that rocked itself on a head that wiegh in at close to 50 lbs without a problem. And as for poped breakers never had a problem then again I don't use any at all. I go strait to the battery with alligator clips if I see a fire I pull the cord.. I know its not the right way but I have not seen smoke yet. For those of you that can't afford those high end reels take it from and old salt! they work and they will get the job done.
