What baits were you drifting ...? Things are definitely slow...but you can't give up....the weather looks great out there and at least you can enjoy a few:

Default 0/0 here too

Nice night, but slow on the south drift.

Wind took a while to lay down Sunday, was getting worried it wouldn't, but finally did. It was beautiful after 7 p.m. We got out to the sword grounds off Key Biscayne before 8 p.m. Found lots of bait at on the way out at Bug (pilchards, hoos and hard tails) and loaded up.

We put out a spectacular spread with three jugs and two tips. Had a nice 3.2 knot drift which was slightly in and north. We had natural squid, dyed squid and live runners in the spread. However, not a single hit. We drifted four to five rods until 11:15 p.m. and called it a night. We moved twice. Went over some great bottom too, lots of relief. (started off on the 48, moved into the 51 and made the last drift on the 54.)

However, I found out today the bite turned on late. My brother-in-law, fishing off Hillsborough, caught two swords, one at 11:30 p.m., his first bite of the night, and another one at 1:00 a.m., a 56” and a 62”.

My drought continues. It was fun though. The tunes and the libations were kicking!

Juan

I had the same conditions and results on the north drift. Nobody else out there. Also quit at 11 pm so I could at least pretend to work today.

there's your problem. Glad I decided to stay in bed with the GF, cause I don't catch fish when your bro in law is out there

We only managed a shark bite and 1 slashed squid last night. We quit at 11 when the wind started clocking from the southwest.

Arrrrg, be careful Capn: the air is a lot thinner at 4000m. The parachutes drop a lot faster in those altitudes. Be careful for the Marijui found along the rivers.

Have fun.

Oops, - going off the rails on this crazy train. another de-railed post. OK back to not-catching any swordfish. Well, then again got a report of someone getting a nice fish yesterday, early bite. 200+ . But that would be off the topic of a non-fish report too. C'est la vie.
