Went out of Gov't Cut a couple of days ago into sloppy 3-5 foots seas. Set up at the triple humps at around 7:30pm and waited. Continued waiting and waited some more. Not 1 bite or slashed bait. Nada, zilch, Nico.. Not even a tinker around the boat. Called it at 10:30pm.
Trip wasn't a total loss, we did manage to down a 1.75 bottle of Absolute. Where are the swords at? Team Max'd Out 0-0-0. $ucks...

The Swords are still on Spring break in D.R., Punta Cana.
They should be back in a couple weeks. Or maybe they are sliding through on the Bahamas side of the trench where we are not allowed to catch them anymore. Well maybe the Islandshark can.Coño. |

Swordfish are classified as "Highly Migratory Species" - some are always around but they move from the Gulf of Mexico all the way to the Grand Banks and back. All of a sudden the "sure thing" daytime bite is now not such a sure thing because the fish are just not here - yet. Patience - they will return and catches will start to improve. We did not fish them all out in a couple of months. The worst part is with the price of fuel, that is going even higher, it's very expensive to go out and "prospect".

In other words, the swordfishing (in the straits) is generally not so hot in March, but just wait until Abril. D óh, April is here and almost gone. What am I thinking? Oh, the Swordfishing should be turning on soon. Hey, if not , then there is always Tuna fishing, etc. in the Abacos. Right right, you're bloody well right. But the fishing is better in the Bahamas especially when you've got a Fish Magnet in your box. Why waste fuel when you can be catching fish too? P.S. - Don't mind the language impediment, just reminiscing over some Albury tales, but somebody always understands what I am saying. Aaarrh. Tee. Party harr harr. And if you don't just be quiet, and fish.
