if thats the mako we are all talking about, they must have been mistaken about the weight.
http://www.sharkfishing.us/BigFish.htm
this is a site where you can chech out some nice big makos that were weighed.
Don't get me wrong, it is a great mako and a great catch (congrats are in order for the crew of the Therapy), I just not 900lbs. On the one we caught earlier this year to pick up the tail section like that was near impossible with one person bearing most of the weight alone (like the pic keith posted), there is at leat 4' of the tail section off the groud.
just my opinion....I hope I am proved wrong by at least a length and girth or a pic of her hanging on a certified scale!!!
is this supposed to be the story???

Very nice fish and congrats Capt's Sean and Benny!!! 0123

As of yesterday there was no official weight on the fish, but I would say that it was at least high 600 or low 700 just by the experience of lifting its heavy ass up into the truck to go to Gray. Could be 900.

That's the second one is three weeks for them, and both on Thursdays. I think I need to start taking days off during the week instead of on the weekend.

And yes, that is Kurt of the Mako Minded in the pic above holding up the tail. It took a little coaxing (like 5 or 6 guys to pull him off of the fish), but we finally got him away from it. 01456 He's still the only person I know in Florida who says he's going to go out and catch a mako on a particular day, and then goes out and does just that. (Thanks Kurt for the swordie trip on Fri. We need to do that again)

Now I'd like to see a swordie that big. Hopefully on the end of my line.

Later,
Capt Trigger

Good going and nice fish guys. Mako is my favorite fish to catch. They are unpredictable, pure muscle and mean as Chit.
