This was one of the best trips I had on the CMD not just because we landed a nice phin, and a nice Sword but there was a great group of guys on the boat that I have fished with before and some new guys as well, including the infamous Quack Quack and a couple of his good friends. We set up the first drift on the 50 line and the 00, and hooked a nice phin, then a couple hours of telling jokes, busting on each other and of course a few brews going down. Everyone was having a blast even with the lack of action. Cap decides to pullem in and make a move deeper
Get the spread out and after about 30 minutes Rick is hooked up on his first Sword, and the battle begins ![]() fish is taking line at a good clip so Rick gets up in the pulpit and everyone else clears the rest of the lines and we give chase, with Eric coaching the entire time ![]() Rick has enough and we switch off to another angler Eric still up there but I think this is when he was taking a ![]() ![]() That guy had enough so now we get Chad on the fish ![]() Chad has enough and Bob gets in on it for a bit, but did not get a pic of that, and then Willie gets in on the action as well ![]() Willie has enough and Farley gets in on fight to finish the fish sorry did not get one of that since I was standing by with the poon. We finish the fish after a three hour battle, and I got to pop the cheery on my poon after two years, the next picture is shortly after it came over the rail and due the the bloody mess no one else wanted get messed up so I got in this one ![]() My camera took a crap after this and I did not get anymore at the dock, fish measured 69 inches.

Yup it was a hell of a night as they say.I had a lot of fun helping the guys out fighting the fish.I hope some of the other guys that took pics post them up.I know there were a bunch taken that night.Being on a head boat fighting big fish brings back a lot of memories for me thats for sure. Thanks to Capt Adam and Kevin for letting me help out a little
It was a fun trip for sure.

Sounds like goodtimes. Stand up swordfishing is definately not for sissies. If I counted correct, four anglers got a real taste of it. WTG Capt Adam and all the anglers and crew. Headboat fishing is definately a team sport

Nope all 7 anglers got a good taste of the action.Fish was hooked in the side and the hook ripped for about 2ft on the fish.It stopped when it hit the gill collar. It came out easy after the fish was on deck.Had a good amount of drag on the fish as well.Any more drag and it might not of had a happy ending.

Great report .. nice sword .. but part of the problem why some of the guy`s tired out so quick is the harness is not set up correctly .. #1 rod should be at a 11 degree angle..if set to high .. not gaining a lot of line ... ,#2 harness should be test fitted to the angler before the trip out or fighting the fish , also#3 the bottom part of the harness should be on the butt ..that way your back is not doing all the work ....... anyway good everyone got a trun getting the sword on the deck!

Hook one of those suckers in the side... and it's like fighting a door-sized planer.
