2/1 Day time catch - 72 inch fatty

We left Purple Fever's dock at 9:00 and had the first drop about 10:15 in the usual spot.

First drop yielded in zilch!

Pulled up and made the second drop and within a couple of minutes of hitting bottom, bam... we were hooked up.. She put up a good fight all the way to the boat! finally had leader in hand and then pulled the hook

Reset again for the 3rd time. Again within a few minutes the had the tip goes off but never set the hook.. Brought up the rig and went for the 4th and final drop. By now we are hearing a couple of other boats with 300 and 400 pound catches.

Pulled out ALL the stops! Special music and secret weapon on the rig

Made the drop and within 5 minutes the bait got hit and we were hooked. Finally boated this nice 72" fatty! Back at the dock by 4:00. Thanks Purple Fever for a great day on the water....

OMG:

Swordfishing with sunglasses and sunscreen lotion and catching nice size fish. What has become of this fishery? Beer consumption will surely be on the increase.
