Went south tonight. 25 05. Got right to work, set out the spread and before we got the last rod out slam! Strong run on the outside jug line (200ft, live blue runner) and a quick hook set. We didn't even have our gear cleared off the deck or our hydroglow out so the first 10 minutes were mad ones. 40 minutes later a nice fat 66" in the boat. My best sword suplex to date. This one hit the deck hard & fast. I almost took out my partner with the bill. Back in by 10:00. Fish steaked and boat cleaned by 11:00. Wish they could all be this way... Gas tank is still pretty full. Both freezers are full again & wife is all smiles. Fastest and best trip of 05 for us. I'm going to take a little time off from the S-fishing.

Capt. Ed:
Way to go on the southern grounds! I am really impressed: a fat 66'' and still suplexed on the deck. Next time I suppose it could be a greeny, suplex onto the deck, then half nelson to submission, or just give him a round house if the pin doesn''t sound like the best plan. Try not to plan to eat all that wonderful fish all by yourself & family; invite friends over for a party and show them what a good life is all about! That way, you can get out there again, perhaps a little bit sooner than perhaps you envisioned. I have been on a little bit of a dry spell: I think that dumping a rod over sideways can create a bit of a bad karma. Mind you it was not me, but that is the last foul taste I have when a nice size ""could have been"". But instead, a loss of a nice rig and a nice fish. It is 1 a.m. right now, but tomorrow we are Bimini Bound: at 5:30 a.m. We are family orientated, yet prepared for swordfishing, hi-speed wahoo-ing, manual deep drop, bottom drop and Mollusk harvesting. I believe it is April 1, so no fooling around, but I believe the crawfish capture just closed in U.S. as well as the Bahamas. I inquired with R. j. B. And he advised there are sword fish to be caught in the Bimini vicinity. Bobbie suggested a bearing from there; so we are very excited to get a few squids wet to test the waters. I just hope for calm seas, since we are kind of house-boat equipped with family and all the stuff. Several hundred pounds of ice I hope will be wisely chosen to keep the right stuff chilly. Ed, we need to go out fish during the summer. I want to see you doing that body twisting suplex and I can snap off a few shots. I gets to be a bit boring lugging around a gaff. Oops fell asleep now its 6:30: got to go. RT |

Nice work Ed, I heard it was a slow night for most. Good job once again. I should be out Sunday night weather permitting.
