daytime report 12/14

First off all .... RT, Malaysa???? you are missed....

Capt Ken and i fished all day. We found a very good zone and dropped on it 10-12X(26.09-26.13). The fish were hitting but we only came tight on one very big fish..... lost the slob next to the boat......

high seas, no other boats and lots of action. We had a great day and it was nice to get to know Capt Ken better( great fisherman, hard worker and a hell of a nice guy).

Seas laid down a bit late afternoon and should be good for the next 24.... good luck and be safe> Now sleep.

I bet a nice big circle hook would do the trick pretty well.

I bet a big azzzz snag hook would be even better. O Im sorry I mean a 3 eyed shrimp.
Just last night I had this conversation with one of my meat mearchant buddies, and he is with you on the circle hook. I am going to start giving them a try.
But on this particular day I dont think they would have been any better, It seemed like one of those days where they were just wacking and playing with it like they already had a belly full of food. I just dont think they were in attack mode and comming in and swallowing it like a man !

I was going to say, don't pick on Capt. Joe. He is one big dude. Makes that buck and a quarter swordfish look small, by comparison.

Will be back in the occident on Friday. Can't wait to do some swordfishing again, or deep drop or Wahoo or troll or daytime or nighttime, whatever.

Need to start dabbling in curried fish dinners. The Spice Islands have awakened the taste buds.

P.S. - I've got some big 20/0 circle hooks in the tackle box, ready to go: Carbon steel, not rubber.
