Default Tuesday night 1/3

Took my mom swordin tonight. Started setting up right after the sun went down inside of the 50.. I let out my 1st bait 100 ft down and put a ballon on. I noticed the ballon came off and I was reeling it in to put a new one. I noticed a little tension. I reel ed it up to the boat grabbed the leader to check the bait. There was alot of weed around. I almost got pulled over, wrapped the leader leaned back with a 52 inch green fish in the boat. After cleaning up the mess it made, my mom insisted we go 200 yds over to wear the fish came from. I tried telling her that the fish move around. Anyway did what she said. I let another squid out and noticed the elactralume would not go down. I reeled down and almost had the rod yanked out of my hands. Got tight. Fought the fish for 30 minutes. Rod in the holder 3/4 spool gone off the 50...Mom could not keep up. Fish came off. Reset same exact numbers. Set up all rods this time. Tip gets slammed 10 minutes pulled. Need a new rig setup. winds changed west fished till 2 no more action..Thursday is my last night for a while going to seaschool 9 days straight. No swordin  . Get out there boys, Its hot!!!!

Thought I was going to have better luck with the hydroglow. The thing leaked the first trip Dude at Crook and Crook helped me get credit for the magnet I will be going back to the magnet I like the way it sits under the surface and doesnt hit the side of the boat.

SFLMAN:

I tied an additional 32 oz weight to the bottom of the hydroglow and that takes it deep enough where it won't hit the side of the boat.
Just a suggestion.

K,

Mon Aug 16, 2004 11:02 pm Subject: Explain the tip rod, what does it do?

The above quote is from you less than a year ago, I guess you came a long way. Less than a year Swordfishing and now ready to be a Swordboat captain. Not to mention you need 360 days of experience on the water just to be a Captain.
