Default My first Sword

I'm real lucky by the sounds of it.. this was my first sword... though not my largest fish. I have 2 marlin larger (526lbs and 867lbs) caught in Cabo in 1989 and 1992. But this was a killer as i had no fighting chair... and finally decided to use a kidney belt about 2 hours into the fight! All I can say is that are powerful beasts!

The omen for the trip was from Capt Alex. I caught a 3+lb rainbow, and he said to me... "You know whats at the other end of the rainbow don't you!" Once I had the fish on Alex turned on the Rocky music theme song to get me pumped.. though we all thought it was a 60lb sword foul hooked. About 4 hours into the fight I told him he motivated the fish with song... what are those lyrics "feeling strong now...", this fish did not want to stop. It jumped a few times close to the boat, as did a smaller one, maybe 150lbs or so that was following mine! In addition, the fish made a few incredible runs... 8 or 9 to be more precise! Half were shallow runs.. the rest were deep! I really hated the deep ones! I did keep about 100lbs of it.. tasty! The Bill will be mounted by the Miss Britt. According to Alex, this is the largest sword in about 6 yrs!

Take Care
