Default Thanksgiving swording

I am thankful for having this fishery so close. After an early dinner, my brother and I hopped on the boat and headed out. It was pretty dark when we were setting up, and before I could put out my 4th bait, the 250 balloon gets nailed. I basically end up getting beat up by this 54 inch fish...taken around the boat, under the engines...I got caught in a treble hook that my brother had to cut out of my shirt. We end up boating that one amidst a little chaos. We are about to reset and as Kev goes to reel in one of the baits left out (without the clicker on with drag near strike...20-25 lbs) he realizes there is a fish on it. Kev reels in another sword that was maybe an inch or two bigger. The hook was right in the corner so I kept the fish in the water, got the hook out, and let it free...but not before he got a little slash under my armpit (yes I was holding it with thumbs facing each other, just kind of a wild fish). Anyway, fun night, home by about 8:30. I'll put pics up tomorrow maybe. Online reporting is great!

It felt really good to release a 55 incher. Pat and I felt like conservationists. Something tells me that that fish was lucky we already had one in the boat!
