For those who don't know, AFTCO has a tagging tournament based on a yearly basis. I think if you tag 3 swords, you get a special release flag or something. You are automatically entered when you send in the tag cards for your replacements. I usually have my tags with me, but we caught 3 sails during the PBFR, and dangit if I didn't remember to put them back in my boat bag when i reloaded it. I feel it is my reponsibility to tag these fish, and present accurate info to NOAA and TBF since I am benefitting from their work.

Here is the link:

I have some copies of the release cards turned into me from the Fort Lauderdale Swordfish Tournament. There were 8 fish tagged (all tags were from our sponsor, The Billfish Foundation). I would be happy to send you the copies. Do you cross reference with them? Also, the winning fish had a tag recovered from it, also a TBF tag. Eric, please let me know if you would like this data.

A correction. AFTCO is no longer sponsoring the tag awards. They did it for 20 years and this past year was the last. They did a great job and will be sorely missed.
