Once upon a time in a galaxy far far away there was a little boy who used to fish for sword.

Then he moved......

Seriously, good luck on the job and lets get out before you leave.

NMFS has announced it has reopened the comment period and it is open until June 20, 2007. The application remains the same.

What is Hogarth thinking? What more could possibly be said on this? Maybe it is just to give BWFA time to revise its request

I think he had a request from South Atlantic Fishery Management Council to extend so they could voice their views on EFP's.

Given the facts it is an easy decision, Hogarth is wrestling with the emotional point of view from the recreational sector.

BWFA won't revise the request, it is already at a bare minimum of opening up a small percentage of the closed area, far from the recreational fleet. NMFS may reduce the amount of EFP's, but I don't believe Rich will make that request.

Vinnie is right it is an easy decision....

Hogarth is weighing the future of our fishery against a retirement plan for a bunch of emotional old fisherman who have yet to provide any science which they claim forms the basis of the proposal.

Welcome back Vinnie, shoot any gobblers?

I've said it before, both on here and on other fishing websites, that SAFMC sticking their camel's snout into this particualr tent is a very bad thing. They have been making some decisions in the last year or so that are very anti-recreational and pro-commercial or pro-shrub nibbler.

Warm up your keyboard and send more comments NMFS's way to counteract any meddling on SAFMC's part. THE SAFMC AND GEORGE GEIGER IN PARTICULAR ARE NOT A FRIEND OF THE RECREATIONAL FISHERMAN.
