Default NMFS Meeting: Your Behavior

We are hearing rumors that the NMFS is worried that this meeting may get out of control. That is why the Southeast Swordfish Club and RJ Boyle wanted a lot of people there and to have a just a few speakers.

This meeting is for the commercial fishing industry and it is important that the recreational fishermen are represented.

If the meeting gets out of control, especially by the recreational fishermen, it will work against us.

Please let everyone know how important it is to be professional, no matter what the speaker has to say. By being there and listening, we can make sure we know what "they" are asking for. Then we can send our concerns in letters and emails to the head of NMFS and address it the way the goverment works.

If we are to win this one for the recreational guys, we need to be there and to be cool headed.

There is enough information on the other two threads to educate eveyone on some of the hot topics, from what the commercial industry wants to what we need to protect ourselves.

See you all there, Wed. Sept 27, 2006 7pm.

I hope it doesn't turn into a Home Owner's Association type Meeting

Seriously though, it is in our best interest to keep a professional attitude.

See you guys there

I was going to get a discussion about homeowners taxes and insurance going, maybe they can do something about that as well.

"they" will not put up with people bashing them? Last time I looked "they" worked for us but o.k. we will play nice as directed. No reason to bash commercial guys despite how shortsighted they have historically proven to be, they are after all just trying to feed their families. The commercial bouy guy I know up here and Ollie from his posts seem very conservation minded. Not bashing NMFS on the other hand, that's gonna take some biting of tongues for sure.........

Wow King King?

I'm not sure if we should be honored by your presence "on this stupid forum as you have called it" or annoyed that you had the balls to post such an arrogant first impression. (But yes, I think Skip is a sharp guy too; however, you could cut the rest of us a little slack.)

Well, what can you expect from a great ape anyway. At least we know you can read and lurk, and post even. But can you stick both feet in your mouth at the same time?

Either way, welcome to the forum mate. You are always welcome to raise the bar of quality posts on this site, if you like.

BTW - I'm sure you will get better with practice. Just as an FYI, double posting is bad forum etiquette. Yeah, like Islander said, looking forward for your second post. irat:

P.S. - Do you think that can make it to the NMFS meeting this evening?
