Lots Of Changes

Well the wind finally started to settle down a bit giving us a chance to get out on the edge
and see what we could find. After some searching we were able to find a nice weed line that we started to work. A couple of minutes later we see a free jumping sailfish in the distance. As we raced to get ahead of it I rigged a herring and fired it out. We then rigged up a second herring and even though we only saw one sailfish we managed to hookup a double header of sailfish landing both fish. After searching some more we never ran into the dolphin offshore so we headed in for the edge and set up in a 200’ of water.
Well I think you know what happens next. Here come about 12 hungry dolphin around the boat. After catching about 6 fish they moved on to find some other source of entertainment. Several minutes later we managed to get a hookup on the downrigger and managed to catch a 20# barracuda. That is the way the day ended.

The good thing is that the customers came on aboard with no preconceived notions about what they wanted to catch and let us put together a nice day for them. Two of the guys caught there first ever saltwater fish and they just happened to be sailfish. Add in the six dolphin and the barracuda and a great day was had by all.

As you can tell from my report there is some good action to be found if you keep your options open. Maybe a little morning of offshore dolphin fishing and then in on the reef for sails, kings, and tuna.

I am also happy to announce that I have been added to the SeaVee pro staff for 2008 and we will be fishing on a brand new 32 SeaVee powered by twin Mercury Verados. The boat is unbelievable and a big step up from my previous boat. We will definitely be fishing in style in 08’

Well that is it for now I will keep you posted on the fishing as we have some trips next week and once the boat goes into production I will post some pictures.
