Spring Kings
The annual spring run of Kingfish has begun and hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have been consistently limiting out everyday on Kings as well as catching plenty of Sailfish, Dolphin, and Wahoo. The Fish have been between 200 and 100 feet and the Kings have been fro 5 to 35 pounds. I like using pilchards and sardines. There have also been a lot of sharks in 200 to 350 feet. Hammerheads, Bulls, Black tips and Dusky have been pretty thick. Drifting baits on the bottom has been the ticket to catching big sharks. On the swordfish front, there has been great action when we can get out as usual. There have been a few days the last couple of weeks and those that went out got paid back with good numbers of fish. As we get into April some of the biggest fish of the year will be caught, look for them on the backside of the April moon. On another note, I have relocated my charters to Jupiter Inlet as of April 1st. I will still be fishing locally and for swordfish but I will be focusing on fishing out of my new home in Jupiter. I have a few spots left for the annual Mutton Spawn. If you want to go you need to pick your date snow as things are booking up rapidly. Let go catch some big, nasty, delicious Mutton Snappers and make the tip a memory you won’t soon forget. Till next time, CATCH EM UP!! Capt. Kevin Kates (800) 256-8042 (772) 288-5260 (754) 367-0259
