Here in FL alot of time saltwater fish come in freshwater. Well i was fishing a pond by my home for whatever and saw some snook. All i had was a 6'6 light 4-8# rod with 10# line and i said "let see what happens" i got my 2 inch minnow in gray and white with a 1/4 jig head and slowly pulled it infront of it. It took it and took 2min to land
. It was a 4 pounder. I have allso seen tarpon, sapper, and small sharks in ponds like them.

Yea its not rare to catch tarpon and snook in golf course ponds. Here in NSB if you go far enough up into spruce creek it will be mostly freshwater and you can catch bass, snook, redfish, and tarpon in the same day. Ive never been succesful enough to do it in one day but ive seen tarpon in the same places ive caught bass redfish and snook.
From my experience golf couses that are close to saltwater rivers usually have drainage into the river and the snook and tarpon go up through the pipes and haver a nice place to live and not many people bother them. Ive never been succesful enough to catch one of the pond tarpons either. |

ive seen one caught and caught a few snappers too and a couple of snook, but watch out for the golf coarse people, we snuck into a "private" club and man were they pissed when they saw us fishing in that pond.

Usually if you just ask the people at the clubhouse if you can fish their ponds they won't mind. But make sure it's out of season (usually late march-september). I live on a course and I'm at the clubhouse every day asking them. By now they see me walking up and just come out and ask what I'm going for that day :-)
