Default New to this inshore stuff

I have offshore fished for years, and have screwed around at the peir for snook, but I would really like to start fishing for Snook and Tarpon on a regular basis. This is the equitment I have so far....
Calcutta TE 400 on a 12-20 Star Rod
Penn 4500 spinner on a 8-17 Star Rod
Calcutta 700 on a 15-30 Star Rod

Mirrolures
Spooks
etc (The lures I've done good on with snook)

Also I threw some jerkbaits today, and have fallen in love with them. They work better than spooks or rapalas or the normal lures people normally throw for snook. Can anybody recommend a certain brand of soft jerkbaits? I
don't mean to sound naive about fishing because im not, but could some body help me out with tips and tackle recommendations+lure recommendations.

Thanks,
-Curt

Default soft plastics

Hey BocaSS : I found some really great soft plastics at Bass Pro they are the store brand and they look just like finger mullet or small bait fish. I fish them with a hank brown hook up jig thru the lips the same way you fish a live fingermullet. They work pretty good for plastic, but i prefer live..... [/b]

I primarily flats fish for redfish and trout up here in new smyrna i use copper/penny, chartruses, baby bass, color jerk baits. bass assassin (long slug style), charlie worms (their not actual worms i use the shads the brand name is charlie worms), gulps, and exudes make good jerk bait. i dont snook fish alot either but i have caught them on these. For tarpon here we found that they wouldnt eat much other than a jumbo shrimp with the tail cut off and hooked in the tail. My friend from the keys moved here and showed me that they like mahi mahi stomachs/carcuses with a circle buried in them.
