Went out this Saturday for a few hours and did pretty good. Got 4 fish in about 45 mins. Every bait i dropped down got slammed. Fish were about 27-32" All of them almost perfect slot size fish. Too bad it wasnt season.
Pics are below. |

so had some gas in my fuel the first week of season but now im back at it. still havent got a slot size yet, most of them have been under slot by a few inches.
also finally switched to Power Pro, dont know why it took me so long, but after losing a nice one in the inlet the other night due to old mono on the reel, im done with mono. i am definitely liking the braid. below are some pics from last night. got 5 fish, none were slot size. will be out a good part of the day tomorrow trying to bring one home. |

i always use a mixed bag of bait. most snook are being caught on mullet right now... pinfish is one of my personal favs... got 2 more shorts last night. 6 shorts between saturday and sunday.. the big ones are obviously out of the inlet. im staying inside tonight to hopefully find the big ones! |

nice report Matty. Killed a 31"er yesterday while I was detailing a boat. Rodney, the pilings and 100lb braid did all the work. I heard the clicker climbed off the bow unwound the fish measured and iced
I really didn't think I was going to get much action, but after I saw the fingers getting blasted I had to try something. So I tied a 4/0 circle on a 50W and just let it dangle while I was working. Got a couple shorts, jacks, and a giant ladyfish too. All on finger mullets during the first part of the outgoing.

I missed it in w/ the other ones that came in while I was out of town. I'll send something over to ya tommorow. Thanks for the help. I think the snook was about 9-10lbs but didn't weigh him. Filleted and fried all in the same day. He was a nice clean one though. Definately spent his summer on the beach side
We should get together one night when the tide is right. Either I can show you my fav. lights in St. Lucie or scoot down and try and poach em out from under the cleaning table @ Seasport . Talk to ya soon
