Me and my friend Connor decided to head up to boynton today so we arrived at silver palm boat ramp at 6:45 to get an early start. We went up to lake wyman and got a well full of pilchards and mullet. Then we began the long journey up to boynton. Get up there around 9:00 and go to a sandbar and get a lot of larger silver and black mullet. Go over to boynton spillway and there is already two boats fishing it. I chose a good spot to tie up and began fishing. Right off the bat Connor loses a nice snook. A little while longer and my foot long silver mullet starts getting busted up on the surface. Let him eat it and fish on. Then my shimano baitrunner 4500 just switches itself over to baitrunner and i cant fix it so i use my palm as the drag. Finally get the snook to the boat and it measures out at 27 inches . Keep on fishing and are trying to stay away from the jacks and then Connor says hes on. Then this tiny little tarpon starts to do backflips and goes crazy on the surface. Get him in the boat and he was maybe a pound or two. We continue fishing and then my finger mullet gets inhaled by a big snook. I am now using my 3500 baitrunner and im gettin worked. Pass the rod under the buoys 2 or 3 times and then he finally tires out. Pull him in the boat and he measured out to 35 inches . Then we go over to two George's and have a nice lunch before headin back to the spillway. When we get there the snook were no longer bustin everywhere so we decided to have some fun with the jacks. After catching about 20 we pack it up and head back down to boca. It was a fun day and we did pretty good.
